THE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP CYCLE IS OPEN APRIL 1 THRU JUNE 1.

WAFOP Scholarship Program

There is hereby created a Washington Fraternal Order of Police (WAFOP) scholarship program to provide scholarship money for qualified individuals.

Awards

• Up to (10) ten scholarships not exceeding $1000 each.
• May be used at accredited colleges, vocational schools, or universities.
• Funds sent directly to the chosen facility upon enrollment proof.
• No requirement to award scholarships annually.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be a WAFOP member, spouse, or child in good standing.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA from last completed education period.
• Preference to WAFOP children/step-children aged 17–21.
• Must be a high school graduate or hold a GED.
• Transcript required from high school or current higher ed program.
• Letter of recommendation from sponsor and one additional reference.
• Only applications submitted April 1 – June 1 will be accepted.
• Past recipients may reapply, but preference is given to first-time applicants.
• Unfulfilled scholarship conditions will result in cancellation of award.

Selection Criteria

• Child of WAFOP between ages 17–21
• Overall GPA
• Total household income
• First-time applicant
